This is the hilarious moment a pub landlord’s wife chucks a pint at him – in a tongue and cheek demonstration of how they will implement ‘social distancing’.
Like many pubs up and down the country The Station Inn at Farfield, Kidderminster is gearing towards re-opening from the Covid-19 lockdown on July 4 following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s recent announcement. To mark the momentous news landlord Colin Faulkner and his wife Trudy came up with the idea to shoot a quick video.
The 14-second clip shows Trudy, wearing a face mask, approach Colin in the beer garden with a cool refreshment and say ‘pint of Carling?’.
Then in order to keep a safe distance she tosses the pint to him across the table. Colin catches the glass, which sadly only has half the beverage left, and says ‘cheers’.
He posted the video to the Station’s Facebook page with the caption: “How Trudy thinks social distancing will work here at The Station Inn”. It prompted hundreds of comment from punters who absolutely loved it.
Speaking to Worcestershire Live Colin, who has ran The Station Inn for nearly eight years, confirmed the pub would be implementing more serious distancing measures including screens at the bar and the tables as well as a marquee on the car park to create a new seating area.
One said: “Literally laughed out loud! How many takes to do this? I’m hoping a few!”
Another said: “That’s fantastic look forward to seeing you soon.”
While one person commented: “Hilarious love it can I come and work for you lol”
