In Animal Crossing: New Horizon, one of your goals is to pay off your house loan. This is the quickest way to get it done.
It is not uncommon to set goals for yourself in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as some aim to fill their museums, while others want to upgrade their home to the fullest extent. If you want to upgrade your home it can be a daunting task as your mortgage range from 98,000 Bells to 2,498,000 Bells. However, if you have a lot of items that you want to place in your home then it is worth it to spend your bells on this venture.
Fortunately, there are quite a few ways you can make bells quickly and efficiently in order to help lift yourself out of debt. You might stick to one method, or use them all, but no matter what you choose will help you achieve your goal of paying off your house loan to Tom Nook!
Sell At Nook’s Cranny
Nook’s Cranny itself won’t be available at the start of the game, but Timmy and Tommy are always there to buy items from you. Luckily, it doesn’t take long for them to ask you to help them gather the materials to build their shop location. Once it is built you can sell anything on the island for Bells, from the weeds that sprout up across the map to the extra furniture you collect on your adventures.
Craft And Sell The Hot Items Of The Day
Once Nook’s Cranny is built then you will learn about the Hot Items of the day. They will buy it from you for twice the original price, so it is definitely worth it to check out this board every day. Some things are easier to make than others, but usually, you will find yourself collecting the supplies for the items anyway, so you might as well go the extra mile and craft them into something better for a few extra Bells.
Sell Your Fossils, Paintings, Fish, And Bugs Instead Of Donating Them
You might be someone who wants to see their museum thrive, but you might want to consider selling your fossils, paintings, fish, and bugs until you reach your home’s final upgrade. This is especially true when it comes to fossils, but make sure to have them assessed first before selling. You will be raking in the bells in no time, especially when you catch some of the rarest fish in the game.
Head To The Beach To Collect Shells
Shells will spawn on the shoreline and some will earn you quite a profit, as they range in price from 30 Bells to 1,200 Bells. All it takes is a bit of room in your pockets and a run along the beach to snatch up all of the shells in the vicinity. You are guaranteed to make a few thousand Bells doing this, which can go a long way in making a dent in your loans.
Sell Various Fruit
Fruit trees automatically spawn on your island, but there are six different fruits in all. One fruit might be more closely aligned with your Zodiac sign, although it isn’t guaranteed to be the one that appears on your island. It will take some exploring and coordinating with friends to collect and plant them all, as non-native fruit sells for 500 Bells, compared to the 100 Bells of native fruit.
The types of fruit you can collect include:
Invest In Turnips
There is something called the Stalk Market where a pig named Daisy Mae is selling turnips and you can sell them at Nook’s Cranny for various prices. You can buy turnips for 110 to 90 Bells and you can sell them anywhere from 15 Bells to 800 Bells, so it is a gamble as you have to choose when to sell your product. There is an algorithm you can follow, which is explained in this guide, and if you can manage it then you will be rich in no time.
Hit Every Rock On Your Island Daily
Your island always has one money rock and you will want to hit it eight times. It will give you thousands of free bells so you shouldn’t pass up on this offer. It is as easy as the tap of a button and turning away free money would be doing yourself a disservice in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Use Your Miles To Buy Bell Vouchers
When you use the Nook Stop it will grant you so many miles for logging in for days in a row. Once you reach seven days you will earn 300 Miles a day, and every two days you can buy one Bell Voucher with these. A Bell Voucher costs 500 Miles, but you can sell it at Nook’s Cranny for 3,000 Bells. If you choose to continue to only spend your miles on these vouchers then you will be making bank, especially if you focus on completing the Nook Miles Plus challenges.
Use Your Bank Account To Your Advantage
The Nook Stop is not just useful for redeeming your Miles, but you also have your own savings account. It might not seem useful at first glance, although it can be if you play your cards right. Once you start having to acquire bigger loans, you might be tempted to pay off your loan bit by bit which is the wrong move to make.
You want to throw your money into your savings account instead as at the end of the month you will automatically be given an extra five percent in interest. For example, if you have one million Bells in your account, then at the end of the month an extra 50,000 Bells will be added.
Time Travel can come in handy if this is your plan to make Bells as you can automatically jump forward an entire year. This means if you had one million Bells in your account at the end of the month you would end up with 600,000 Bells as it would be given interest 12 times. However, there are some repercussions to doing this, which include rotting turnips.
Dig Up Bells
The final freebie Bells you can find on your island are in the form of randomly buried Bells. You can find them on the ground by looking for a glowing spot and digging here with a shovel.
It will give you a bag of 1,000 Bells and you could just pocket it, or you could make the decision to get even more. You can make a Bell tree by planting anywhere from 1,000 Bells to 10,000 Bells back in the ground and it will make a tree whose fruit is Bells. You can learn more about it in this guide, and it is definitely worth the wait.
