YORKVILLE, IL — Veterans Day is Nov. 11, which falls on a Wednesday this year. The national holiday was established in 1926 to honor men and women who have served in the military.

To honor those veterans, many places around the country will be closed.

Federal government (including the U.S. Postal Service): Closed

Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed. Check your local branch.

Express delivery companies: FedEx and UPS will be open.
